Job summary

iterate in Australia is looking for its second Senior Platform Engineer to own the infrastructure, security, and platform engineering end to end. You’ll cover reliability, automation, and AI-agent tooling to accelerate the team while maintaining strong security and compliance.

This hands-on senior IC role demands breadth across DevOps, SRE, and design of scalable solutions that handle sensitive clinical data and scale beyond Australia as the platform expands.

Qualifications

• Senior Engineer with Platform, DevOps or SRE breadth across systems, cloud and security.
• Hands-on with agentic AI operations tooling used for real work.
• Strong software fundamentals in Python or Go, and git-based workflows with testing.
• Kubernetes and container runtime experience across multi-cloud environments.
• Exposure to ISO 27001, Essential Eight or similar security compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the harness AI agents operate within, including guardrails.
• Write production-grade internal tooling and automation with proper testing.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.
• Own reliability, observability and cost across a multi-cloud setup (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Run Kubernetes and container platforms; lead solutions design for new systems.
• Maintain compliance with ISO 27001, Essential Eight, and Australian privacy standards.
• Participate in on-call rota; act as senior escalation point for internal support.
