Job summary

Plan International Australia is seeking a Senior Philanthropy Adviser to lead growth in Sydney and NSW, managing major-gift relationships and building a strong philanthropic pipeline. You’ll collaborate with the Philanthropy Lead and broader team to secure multi-year funding and expand donor networks.

You’ll develop market plans, cultivate networks, and drive strategy across NSW, QLD, ACT and NT, while working with a Melbourne-based team in a flexible remote/hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in major-gift philanthropy or high-value fundraising, with a strong record of securing and growing gifts over $10k.
• Proven ability to build relationships with high-net-worth individuals, trusts and foundations.
• Ability to translate programs into donor-focused proposals and reports.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a Sydney/NSW philanthropy market development plan.
• Identify prospects, manage a systematic pipeline, and contribute to donor stewardship and retention strategies.
• Deliver tailored proposals, budgets and funding agreements that align donor interests with organisational priorities.
• Ensure effective donor experience, impact reporting and recognition, and cross-team collaboration.
