Job summary

Centurion Transport in Adelaide seeks a Senior People & Capability Business Partner on a 12-month fixed-term basis to collaborate with business leadership on leadership development, talent and succession planning, change management, and workforce planning.

You will drive HR strategies, manage underperformance, investigations and grievance resolution, and ensure alignment with Enterprise Agreements and Fair Work requirements in a fast-paced blue-collar environment.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in a similar position within a fast paced, blue-collar environment
• Exposure to and experience in case management with understanding of Modern Awards and Fair Work Act
• Proven ability to research and comprehend industrial instruments to provide accurate information and advice to stakeholders
• Demonstrated skills in managing sensitive situations during performance management and grievance handling

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching and mentoring to Centurion Leadership to foster a positive, high-performing and safe culture
• Drive continuous improvement of the HR function through effective influencing and collaboration
• Execute HR strategies and service delivery across HR functions: policy updates, salary benchmarking, performance management, engagement, talent mapping and succession
• Support managers with guidance on underperformance, misconduct, disciplinary action and dismissals
• End-to-end management of workplace investigations and grievance resolution
• Interpret Enterprise Agreements, Awards and Contracts and advise stakeholders accordingly

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly agile Senior People & Capability Business Partner to play an integral role in our organisation. In this position, you will work collaboratively with the business on leadership development, talent and succession planning, change management, workforce planning, managing underperformance, dismissals and grievance resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide the Centurion Leadership team with coaching and mentoring that fosters a positive, high-performing and safe culture
• Drive continuous improvement of the HR function through effective influencing and collaborative working relationships
• Execute HR strategies and operational service delivery across the full suite of HR functions including:
  • Policy & Procedure development / update
  • Salary Benchmarking & Review
  • Performance Management
  • Employee Engagement
  • Talent Mapping & Succession Planning
  • Workforce Planning
• Provide support, counsel and advice to managers regarding underperformance, misconduct, disciplinary action and dismissals
• End to end management of workplace investigations and grievance resolution
• Interpret Enterprise Agreements, Awards and Contracts, providing advice to Company stakeholders accordance with company policies and procedures
• Liaising with the Fair Work Commission in relation to unfair dismissal and claims of adverse action, and the relevant paperwork

Skills and Experience:

• Substantial experience in a similar position within a fast paced, blue-collar environment
• Tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded, but not essential
• Exposure to and experience in case management along with a notable understanding of Modern Awards and Fair Work Act
• Proven ability to research and comprehend relevant industrial instruments to provide correct and relevant information and advice to stakeholders
• Demonstrated skills in managing sensitive situations during performance management and grievance situations
• Analysis of HR data, identifying trends, preparation and presentation of reports.
