Job summary

Transport for NSW seeks a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Pega to provide hands-on technical leadership across design, development and evolution of Pega applications supporting Transport Concessions.

You will help establish a scalable, reusable Pega architecture that supports existing concession schemes while enabling easy evolution of schemes and services over time. The role focuses on customer journeys, entitlement and business rules across multiple schemes.

Qualifications

Extensive hands-on experience designing, developing, enhancing and supporting enterprise applications using Pega Platform, including Pega Infinity ’24 or later.
Pega Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) certification, with Pega Certified Lead System Architect (CLSA) certification highly desirable.
Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership across complex Pega implementations, including solution design, application architecture and engineering practices.
Strong experience designing Pega integrations using REST APIs and integrating with cloud and enterprise platforms.
Demonstrated ability to design reusable Pega components and patterns rather than isolated solutions for individual business requirements.
Strong understanding of Pega application architecture, case management, data modelling, integration, security, performance and maintainability.
Strong understanding of contemporary software engineering practices including DevOps, CI/CD, automation, secure coding, code quality and production support.
Experience mentoring engineers, conducting technical and code reviews and providing technical guidance across delivery teams.
Ability to work across engineering, architecture, product and delivery teams and explain complex technical decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Tertiary qualifications in IT, Software Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience, as required by the role description.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development and evolution of Pega applications for Transport Concessions.
Establish scalable, reusable Pega architecture supporting multiple concession schemes.
Design Pega data architectures for complex customer, scheme and service relationships.
Guide integrations between Pega, REST APIs, AWS-hosted services and other systems.
Establish reusable Pega components and engineering standards.
Provide hands-on technical leadership across development, testing, deployment and production support.
Lead code reviews and mentor engineers toward sustainable solutions.
Collaborate with engineers, architects, product teams and security to ensure compliance.
Contribute to DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability and production support.
Focus on Transport Concessions customer journeys, rules and forms.
