Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a Pega Software Engineer to develop, maintain and improve Pega applications that support critical transport services and customers across NSW.

You will work in an agile, cross-functional team, translating business requirements into technical solutions, building integrations with APIs and enterprise systems, and contributing to secure, scalable releases with CI/CD practices for reliability and performance. This permanent full-time role is based in Parramatta.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience developing, enhancing and supporting enterprise applications using Pega Platform, including Pega Infinity '24 or later.
• Pega Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) certification, or equivalent demonstrated Pega development experience.
• Experience across Pega application development, system integration, APIs, testing and troubleshooting within a complex enterprise environment.
• Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, automation, secure coding and production support, aligned with the broader Software Engineer RD.
• Tertiary qualifications in IT, Software Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience, as required by the RD.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance and support Pega applications, delivering scalable and maintainable solutions that support critical transport services and customer outcomes.
• Work within an agile, cross-functional engineering team, translating business requirements into practical technical solutions and collaborating with engineers, product teams and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain integrations between Pega, APIs and enterprise systems, ensuring solutions are secure, reliable and perform effectively in production.
• Apply contemporary software engineering practices across development, testing, code review, deployment, troubleshooting and CI/CD, contributing to high-quality and efficient releases.
• Monitor and continuously improve Pega solutions, proactively identifying technical issues, improving application performance and supporting ongoing service reliability.
