Pega Software Engineer

Job summary

Transport for NSW, part of the NSW Government, seeks a Pega Software Engineer to design, develop and enhance enterprise Pega applications that support critical transport services and customer outcomes across NSW.

You will work in an agile team, implement API integrations, and maintain production systems with CI/CD practices. The role requires CSSA certification and hands-on Pega experience, based in Parramatta with flexible options where possible.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience developing, enhancing and supporting enterprise applications using Pega Platform.
• Pega Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) certification, or equivalent demonstrated Pega development experience.
• Demonstrated experience across Pega application development, system integration, APIs, testing and troubleshooting within a complex enterprise environment.
• Strong understanding of contemporary engineering practices including DevOps, CI/CD, automation, secure coding and production support.
• Tertiary qualifications in IT, Software Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Build and maintain integrations between Pega, APIs and enterprise systems.

In this role, you'll:

As a Pega Software Engineer, you'll develop, maintain and improve Pega applications that support important transport services and customers across NSW.

• Design, develop, enhance and support Pega applications, delivering scalable and maintainable solutions that support critical transport services and customer outcomes.
• Work within an agile, cross-functional engineering team, translating business requirements into practical technical solutions and collaborating with engineers, product teams and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain integrations between Pega, APIs and enterprise systems, ensuring solutions are secure, reliable and perform effectively in production.
• Apply contemporary software engineering practices across development, testing, code review, deployment, troubleshooting and CI/CD, contributing to high-quality and efficient releases.
• Monitor and continuously improve Pega solutions, proactively identifying technical issues, improving application performance and supporting ongoing service reliability.

The team also comes together in person for activities such as branch all-in days (Location Parramatta Office), training sessions, planning workshops and collaborative work.

About you

• Tertiary qualifications in IT, Software Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience, as required by the RD.
