Job summary

Mitolo Family Farms is seeking a Senior Payroll Officer to lead end-to-end weekly payroll across our multi-entity business. You will maintain data integrity, ensure compliance with Australian payroll rules, and work closely with People and Culture, Finance and Operations teams.

This role requires strong numerical and analytical skills, experience with payroll systems, and the ability to meet tight deadlines while safeguarding confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Significant payroll experience in a complex environment.
• Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, award and Enterprise Agreement application.
• Experience with payroll systems and timekeeping software; Chris21/Kronos preferred.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills with high accuracy.
• Experience with payroll reconciliations, reporting and month-end processes.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work with employees and leaders.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Join our payroll team as a dedicated Senior Payroll Officer, and contribute to the accurate and efficient delivery of payroll across our business. Working closely with our People and Culture, Finance and Operational teams, you will help ensure payroll compliance, maintain data integrity and drive efficient and reliable processes.

About the Role

You will be responsible for:

• End-to-end payroll processing of our weekly payroll
• Maintaining payroll systems and data integrity
• Managing payroll compliance and reporting including PAYG, superannuation and WorkCover requirements
• Responding to employee and leader payroll enquiries with clear and timely advice, with support from the People and Culture team as required
• Identifying opportunities for payroll system and process improvements
• Maintaining accurate payroll documentation and supporting payroll audits, reconciliations and internal compliance reviews

About You

You will have significant payroll experience within a complex environment, and enjoy working collaboratively, managing competing priorities and providing a responsive service. You will also bring:

• Previous experience in end-to-end payroll processing, ideally in a multi-entity or high-volume environment.
• A sound understanding of Australian payroll legislation, Award and Enterprise Agreement application, employment conditions and statutory requirements.
• Experience with payroll systems and timekeeping software. Exposure to Chris21 and Kronos would be preferred.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience with payroll reconciliations, reporting and month-end processes.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, operational leaders and support teams.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
