Job summary

Itoh Talent Partners is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join a national payroll team on a temporary basis. You will manage a high-volume weekly pay-run for 21,000+ employees, reporting to the Payroll Manager and collaborating with People, Finance and IT.

Role requires strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Modern Awards, PAYG, superannuation, and payroll tax, with hands-on experience in payroll systems to ensure accurate, on-time processing.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Payroll Officer or similar in a high-volume, weekly pay-cycle environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Modern Awards and statutory requirements (PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax).
• Comfortable working with payroll and HRIS systems.
• High attention to detail, with the ability to work to tight, recurring deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Processing weekly payroll accurately and on time, in line with approved procedures and legislative requirements.
• Supporting period-end and statutory obligations, including superannuation, payroll tax and STP reporting.
• Interpreting and applying Modern Awards and enterprise agreements correctly across a large, multi-site workforce.
• Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies and employee payroll queries.
• Assisting with reconciliations and providing extra support during peak processing periods.
• Working closely with People, Finance and IT as needed.

A well-established, ASX-listed national operator is looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join their payroll team on a temporary basis. Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, you'll work alongside a team of Payroll Officers, supporting the accurate, on-time delivery of a high-volume weekly pay-run for a workforce of 21,000+ employees.
