Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort on the Sunshine Coast is seeking a passionate Sous Chef – Pastry to lead our pastry kitchen, delivering refined desserts for dining and large events.

In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll work with the Head Chef to oversee daily pastry operations, ensure quality and safety, and guide a team through menu development and service.

If you bring trade qualification in patisserie and a track record in high-volume hospitality, you’ll thrive in our vibrant resort setting.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified in Patisserie with hotel-level pastry experience.
• Experience in high-volume or events operations highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP and kitchen compliance.
• Creative with attention to detail and presentation.
• Leads by example and supports team development.
• Excellent organisation under pressure.
• Positive, professional pastry-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the pastry kitchen.
• Drive menu development with fresh, creative ideas.
• Maintain consistency, presentation and food safety.
• Lead, train and develop junior pastry staff.
• Coordinate with kitchen teams for smooth service.
• Support stock control, ordering and waste management.
