The Personal Injury & Commercial division is Allianz Australia's largest distribution channel encompassing products distributed via a broker intermediary and our underwriting agency partners.

We are currently looking for a Senior Partnership Manager to join our Underwriting Agencies team to lead strategic relationships and performance oversight for group of designated underwriting agency partners, ensuring profitable growth, strong executive engagement, effective governance, and alignment with Allianz priorities, frameworks, risk appetite and customer expectations.

About the role
  • Developing and executing strategic partnership plans for a group of underwriting agencies, covering growth and performance priorities, relationship structures, residual risk management, governance obligations, and key deliverables.
  • Building and maintaining trusted relationships with agency principals, senior executives, broker leadership teams and internal Allianz stakeholders to drive strategic alignment, advocacy and growth.
  • Leading joint executive engagement, governance forums and reporting to review performance, emerging risks, remediation progress and strategic opportunities.
  • Collaborating with cross-divisional colleagues you will monitor agency performance to ensure effective operation of control frameworks, reportability and continuous improvement by the underwriting agency as it relates to delegated authority arrangements.
  • Using data, insights and market intelligence to identify growth opportunities, profitability levers, operational improvements and areas requiring intervention.
  • Managing the negotiation, implementation of contracts and the ongoing monitoring, ensuring all contractual, regulatory and compliance obligations are met.
  • Preparing business cases and reporting that effectively engages cross-divisional stakeholders for relevant reviews and approvals in line with Allianz policies and procedures.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for significant opportunities, service issues, operational friction and matters requiring senior stakeholder alignment, while ensuring accurate and timely reporting to all relevant stakeholders and governance forums
About you
  • Experience in the general insurance industry understanding key commercial drivers, including distribution, underwriting, claims, delegated authority models, products, portfolio performance, governance frameworks, and regulatory expectations
  • Demonstrated ability to build, manage and influence senior internal and external stakeholder relationships, including agency leaders, framework owners and cross-divisional leadership teams.
  • Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity, balance commercial and risk considerations, and provide pragmatic solutions that meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Extensive experience developing and executing business strategies, strategic partnership plans and operational plans aligned to organisational priorities, customer expectations and profitable growth.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to use market, competitor, performance, risk and customer insights to identify opportunities, improve outcomes and make pragmatic recommendations.
  • Proven ability to identify, pursue and deliver business development, portfolio improvement and operational effectiveness opportunities that contribute to sustainable growth and profitability in a complex matrix organisation.
  • Proven capability to manage change, influence adoption and support organisational transformation through effective communication, collaboration and practical implementation planning.
  • Experience managing complex negotiations and ensuring acceptable commercial, financial, service, governance and compliance conditions are agreed and delivered.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact and influence.
