Job summary

Boeing Defence Australia invites applications for a P-8A Avionics Engineer based at RAAF Base Edinburgh, Adelaide. You will contribute engineering judgement, support design, maintenance, and repair of critical weapon systems.

The role requires 7–12 years in avionics, regulatory compliance, and strong stakeholder engagement. Australian citizenship is required; flexible work options available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Aerospace or related) from a nationally accredited program.
• 7–12 years’ experience in avionics systems, aircraft repairs, analysis, or engineering support.
• Experience in a regulated aviation environment (DASR, CASA, FAA, EASA) or similar.
• Proven ability to analyse data, form conclusions and deliver engineering recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support across the full P-8A weapon system including aircraft and training systems.
• Develop and improve data collection, assessment and reporting procedures.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality requirements.
• Review and contribute to engineering reports and documentation with clear recommendations.
• Provide input into avionics findings and support informed decisions.
• Lead projects from concept through delivery, meeting customer and regulatory expectations.
• Engage with stakeholders, provide updates, briefings, and presentations.
• Foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
