Job summary

The Boeing Company in Australia is seeking a P-8A Avionics Engineer to join the Poseidon team at RAAF Base Edinburgh, Adelaide. The role supports design, maintenance and repair of critical defence avionics systems, with a flexible part-time arrangement.

You will contribute to engineering judgments, generate clear technical recommendations, and work with multidisciplinary teams to meet regulatory and customer expectations across information and weapon systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in electrical/electronics/aerospace or related field.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in avionics systems or engineering support.
• Experience with regulated aviation environments (DASR/CASA/FAA/EASA).
• Strong data collection, organization and interpretation skills.
• Proven leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement ability.
• Proactive, with initiative and drive to deliver results.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to engineering support across the full P-8A system, including aircraft, mission and training systems.
• Provide specialist input into avionics findings and support sound engineering decisions.
• Ensure work complies with regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Contribute to engineering reports and translate analysis into recommendations.
• Participate in design projects from concept to delivery, meeting expectations.
• Develop and improve data collection, assessment, and reporting procedures.
• Engage with stakeholders, providing updates, briefings, and presentations.
• Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
