Job summary

Boab Metals Limited, owner of the Sorby Hills project in the East Kimberley, is seeking an experienced Senior Mining Engineer (Alternate Quarry Manager) to drive open pit planning and operations. You will report to the Site Senior Executive and work with geology, processing and project teams to deliver safe, timely outcomes.

Based in Western Australia with a FIFO 2:1 roster from Perth or Darwin, the role focuses on safe production, contractor management, budgeting and life-of-mine planning to

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering.
• WA Quarry Manager's Certificate of Competency.
• First Class Mine Manager's Certificate (advantage).
• Minimum 5 years' experience in open pit mining operations.
• Proven mine planning, scheduling and operational leadership.
• Experience with contractor mining operations.
• Proficiency with Surpac, Minesched, GoldSim and tools like ArcGIS/AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Fulfil Quarry Manager statutory responsibilities and ensure WHS compliance.
• Lead safe, efficient open pit mining operations.
• Manage mining contractor performance against safety, production and cost metrics.
• Develop and optimise short- and medium-term mine planning and schedules.
• Support mine development, operational readiness and project execution.
• Monitor production, reconciliation and cost control outcomes.
• Lead risk assessments, investigations and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical leadership to operations and technical teams.
• Collaborate with geology, processing, maintenance and projects to meet production goals.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and life-of-mine planning.
