Evolution Mining is seeking a Senior Open Pit Mine Engineer for Cowal Gold Operations in Australia. You will develop and optimise medium-term mine plans, influence satellite pit design and oversee life-of-mine planning, with exposure to startup, ramp-up, and closure phases.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in open pit mine planning or mining studies.
• Advanced Deswik experience, particularly in scheduling and mine planning.
• Strong mine design, scheduling and optimisation capability.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience within a metals mining environment.
• Proactive and analytical mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Drive medium-term mine planning outcomes that maximise value, productivity and operational performance.
• Influence the design and optimisation of new satellite pits and future mining opportunities.
• Deliver scenario modelling, forecasting and risk analysis to support key decisions.
• Identify improvement opportunities across planning systems, mine design and scheduling processes.
• Mentor and develop engineering talent as part of the site’s succession planning.
