Job summary

Riverina Medical & Dental Aboriginal Corporation (RivMed) is seeking a Program Manager – Out of Home Care (OOHC) to lead the OOHC and Aftercare teams across the Murrumbidgee region, providing operational leadership, practice oversight and support to ensure culturally safe, high-quality services for Aboriginal children and families.

Reporting to the Manager OOHC / Principal Officer, you will guide caseworkers, manage referrals and caseloads, drive governance and compliance, and collaborate

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Social Work or Diploma in Community Services or equivalent.
• Leadership experience in child, family or Aboriginal services with OOHC knowledge.
• Experience providing leadership, case consultation and oversight of complex casework and risk management.
• Understanding Aboriginal culture, kinship, trauma-informed practice and culturally safe delivery.
• Experience managing program operations including referrals, intake, caseloads, staffing and outcomes.
• Knowledge of compliance, reporting, documentation and contractual requirements.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship management with government and community partners.
• Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel including overnight stays.
• Ability to obtain Working with Children Check, National Police Check and vaccination evidence.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership and oversight of OOHC and Aftercare services across the Murrumbidgee region.
• Supervise, coach and support Caseworkers, promoting accountability and professional development.
• Oversee referrals, intake, caseload management and service delivery capacity.
• Maintain high standards of casework practice, including case planning, risk assessments, safety planning, documentation and reviews.
• Provide guidance on complex case decisions, critical incidents, mandatory reporting and child protection matters.
• Monitor program performance, contractual obligations, compliance requirements, reporting and KPIs.
• Support continuous quality improvement through file audits, data monitoring, practice reviews and staff development.
• Build effective partnerships with NSW DCJ, OCG, government agencies and community organisations.
• Champion culturally safe, trauma-informed, strengths-based and family-led approaches to service delivery.
• Promote outcomes that respect Aboriginal culture, kinship systems and community strengths.
