Job summary

Queensland Government, through Queensland Corrective Services in Townsville, seeks a Senior Service Coordinator to oversee rehabilitation and throughcare services for prisoners and lead a small team in delivering education, training and reintegration programs.

You will plan, coordinate and monitor activities, manage requests and waiting lists, and ensure accurate data in IOMS while liaising with partners and stakeholders to support offender outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in corrections or offender rehabilitation settings.
• Demonstrated frontline people management and coaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee rehabilitation and throughcare services for prisoners (education, vocational training, cultural services, re-entry).
• Supervise and develop a small team with mentoring, coaching and performance feedback.
• Allocate and prioritise work tasks per legislation, policy, procedures and delegations.
• Plan and coordinate centre rehabilitation and reintegration activities including informing prisoners and managing requests and waiting lists.
• Ensure assessments inform program and centre level planning.
• Develop service responses to meet needs of prisoner groups (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, youth, disability).
• Identify and respond to risks from offender rehabilitation; liaise with professionals and business units.
• Develop relationships with service providers, stakeholders and the community to support offender programs.
• Participate in case management and sentence management for offenders.
• In small programs, oversee internal delivery and supervise staff.
• Ensure records/data for IOMS are accurate and current.
• Maintain security and accuracy of records and reports for authorities.
• Maintain knowledge of contemporary offender rehabilitation research, policy and legislation.
