Job summary

Ability Action Australia is expanding its team in the Taree region. We are seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to support participants, delivering timely therapeutic services with a focus on independence and wellbeing.

Work close to home as the team grows and services expand. You will join a supportive, multidisciplinary environment, mentoring graduates and early career clinicians while handling a varied caseload and staying compliant with regulations.

Qualifications

  • Current Occupational Therapy membership with AHPRA.
  • Experience as an Occupational Therapist or Senior Occupational Therapist beyond graduation.
  • Passionate about community‑based support for people with disability.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload.
  • Thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Desire to mentor graduates and early career clinicians.
  • Drivers licence, reliable vehicle and comprehensive car insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an allocated caseload and deliver timely therapeutic services.
  • Assess participants’ development, cognitive, emotional, psychological and physical function.
  • Interpret findings to formulate treatment goals for each participant.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve quality of life and goals.
  • Maintain awareness of current legislation to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support outcomes.
  • Caseload tailored to experience, interests and goals.
  • Support growth and development of graduates and early career clinicians.

As our #AAA teamcontinues to grow, we’re looking for a Senior Occupational Therapistto support participants across theTareeregion, depending on where you’re based - work close to home!

As an experienced clinician, you’ll bring your expertise to a supportive and collaborative environment where you can make a meaningful impact in the lives of your participants, contribute to team development, and continue growing professionally.

  • Manage an allocated caseload (based on your negotiated hours) and deliver timely therapeutic services
  • Assess participants’ developmental, cognitive, emotional, psychological and physical function and capacity through clinical observations and standardised assessments
  • Interpret findings to formulate treatment goals unique to each participant
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to help participants enhance their quality of life and meet their goals
  • Maintain awareness of current legislation to ensure compliance
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to support participant outcomes
  • Caseload will be tailored to your experience, interests and professional goals
  • Support the growth and development of graduates and early career clinicians.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:
