Job summary

Ability Action Australia is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to support participants across the Illawarra region, covering North and South Wollongong, with a flexible mix of home visits, community-based work, and access to office and clinic spaces.

You will manage a caseload, perform comprehensive assessments, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve participant goals while mentoring graduates and early career clinicians in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy membership with AHPRA.
• Experience as an Occupational Therapist or Senior Occupational Therapist beyond graduation.
• Passionate about community-based support for people with disability.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload.
• Thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
• Desire to mentor graduates and early career clinicians.

Responsibilities

• Manage an allocated caseload (based on negotiated hours) and deliver timely therapeutic services.
• Assess participants’ developmental, cognitive, emotional, psychological and physical function and capacity through clinical observations and standardised assessments.
• Interpret findings to formulate treatment goals unique to each participant.
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to help participants enhance their quality of life and meet their goals.
• Maintain awareness of current legislation to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to support participant outcomes.
• Caseload will be tailored to your experience, interests and professional goals.
• Support the growth and development of graduates and early career clinicians.

As our #AAA team continues to grow, we’re looking for a Senior Occupational Therapist to support participants across the Illawarra region, covering North and South Wollongong, depending on where you’re based - work close to home!

As an experienced clinician, you’ll bring your expertise to a supportive and collaborative environment where you can make a meaningful impact in the lives of your participants, contribute to team development, and continue growing professionally.
