Job summary

Ability Action Australia is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to support participants across the Taree region, delivering evidence-based therapy and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

You'll manage a flexible caseload, mentor graduates, and contribute to service development while maintaining compliance with AHPRA and relevant legislation.

Qualifications

• AHPRA registration and ongoing professional development are required.
• Experience as an OT or Senior OT beyond graduation is expected.
• Passion for community-based disability support and client-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Manage an allocated caseload and deliver timely therapeutic services.
• Assess participants’ development, cognition, emotion, and physical function using standardised assessments.
• Formulate treatment goals from assessment findings for each participant.

Job Description

New office space, growing team!

As our #AAA team continues to grow, we’re looking for a Senior Occupational Therapist to support participants across the Taree region, depending on where you’re based - work close to home!

As an experienced clinician, you’ll bring your expertise to a supportive and collaborative environment where you can make a meaningful impact in the lives of your participants, contribute to team development, and continue growing professionally.

• Manage an allocated caseload (based on your negotiated hours) and deliver timely therapeutic services
• Assess participants’ developmental, cognitive, emotional, psychological and physical function and capacity through clinical observations and standardised assessments
• Interpret findings to formulate treatment goals unique to each participant
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to help participants enhance their quality of life and meet their goals
• Maintain awareness of current legislation to ensure compliance
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to support participant outcomes
• Caseload will be tailored to your experience, interests and professional goals
• Support the growth and development of graduates and early career clinicians.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Current Occupational Therapy membership with AHPRA
• Experience as an Occupational Therapist or Senior Occupational Therapist beyond graduation
• Passionate about community‑based support for people with disability
• Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload
• Thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment
• Desire to mentor graduates and early career clinicians
• Drivers licence, reliable vehicle and comprehensive car insurance
