Job summary

SAL Consulting in Darwin, Northern Territory, is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our senior practitioner team. You'll work across diverse caseloads, mentor emerging clinicians and help grow our national practice.

From functional capacity assessments and home modifications to sensory profiling and forensic practice, SAL offers varied work within a trauma-informed, multidisciplinary environment, with flexible options for administration duties at home.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with AHPRA.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as an Occupational Therapist.
• Experience coaching or mentoring developing practitioners.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence and Working with Children Check/NDIS Worker Screening, or the ability to obtain prior to commencement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver occupational therapy services across community, clinic, school and telehealth settings.
• Mentor developing practitioners and contribute to discipline growth.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support holistic outcomes.
• Contribute to functional capacity assessments, home modifications, sensory profiling and related assessments.

What You’ll Be Doing

You'll combine direct clinical work with assessment, intervention, consultation, multidisciplinary collaboration, mentoring and discipline development activities.

Your work will include:

• Delivering high-quality Occupational Therapy services across community, clinic, school and telehealth settings
• Providing assessment, intervention and consultation services to people with diverse and often complex needs

Desired Skills and Experience

Mandatory Requirements

• Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
• Unconditional General Registration with AHPRA
• Current Australian Driver's Licence
• Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening, or the ability to obtain these prior to commencement
• Minimum 5 years' experience as an Occupational Therapist
• Experience working within at least one relevant funding environment (e.g. NDIS, education, child protection, health, justice or related sectors)‚ÄØ
• Experience coaching, mentoring or supporting developing practitioners

Highly Regarded

• Experience in working with people with intellectual disability, trauma histories and complex support needs
• Experience in areas such as functional capacity assessments, sensory profiling, cognitive assessments, home and living assessments, equipment prescription and home modifications
• Experience working collaboratively with families, support networks and multidisciplinary teams to achieve outcomes in everyday environments
