Job summary

City of Whittlesea is seeking a Senior Nurse Immuniser to lead immunisation services across community venues, schools and workplaces. You will work with the Immunisation team and Children and Families Department to deliver safe, accessible vaccination sessions and drive continuous improvement.

The role requires RN Division 1, AHPRA registration and Nurse Immuniser accreditation in Victoria, with capacity to flex across days and settings.

Qualifications

The part you will play. As part of the Immunisation team, you will work closely with the Children and Families Department and the broader City of Whittlesea community.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day clinical leadership and expert immunisation advice to Nurse Immunisers across community, school and workplace settings.
• Lead and coordinate nursing staff to deliver safe, efficient, accessible and compliant immunisation sessions.
• Support clinical decision-making, coach staff, monitor practice and contribute to clinical audits and employee development.
• Oversee vaccine storage, cold-chain practices, emergency equipment and clinical readiness for immunisation sessions.
• Develop and oversee catch‑up immunisation plans for newly arrived clients and others who are eligible and overdue for funded vaccination.
• Identify and escalation clinical risks and contribute to service review, governance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Are a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with current AHPRA registration and accreditation as a Nurse Immuniser in Victoria.
• Bring contemporary knowledge of the National Immunisation Program, the Australian Immunisation Handbook, catch‑up planning, vaccine administration and cold‑chain management.
• Have demonstrated experience leading and supervising professional nursing staff and supporting high standards of clinical practice.
• Exercise sound clinical judgement and remain calm and effective in complex or time‑critical situations.
• Communicate clearly, build effective stakeholder relationships and provide constructive guidance and feedback.
• Hold a current Victorian driver’s licence and have capacity to work flexibly across varied days, hours and immunisation settings.

Benefits

• The position is classified as Nurse Vaccinator Senior.
• The salary is $49,897.95 per annum at 0.40 FTE (full‑time equivalent salary of $124,744.88), plus 12% superannuation.
• A part‑time 0.40 FTE position offering meaningful clinical leadership work with direct benefit to the Whittlesea community.
• This role requires flexibility to work additional sessional hours when required.
