Job summary

eHealth NSW is seeking a Senior Systems Officer for State-wide Network Services in Chatswood. The role focuses on operation, optimization, and continuous improvement of a large multi-tenant enterprise network, ensuring high availability, performance and security across WAN, firewall, and campus infrastructure.

You will translate customer needs into backlogs, work with Product Owners and Principal Engineers, and drive proactive problem management with automation-led efficiencies.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in a senior support or engineering role.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into actionable product backlogs.
• Experience in multi-vendor environments (Cisco, HPE Aruba/Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Lead Support, Product Owners and Principal Engineers to understand product offerings and requirements.
• Refine requests, manage tickets, and support resolution of customer issues.
• Translate customer requests into actionable product backlog items for the Product Owner.
• Promote and embed agile practices within the support function through daily stand-ups and retrospectives.
• Prepare and deliver reports on service performance and metrics.
• Drive improvements in Change and Event Management aligning with NSW Health frameworks.
• Perform proactive problem management and root-cause analysis for complex issues.
• Act as escalation point for complex incidents across network, firewall, and Wi‑Fi.
• Manage BAU network operations including monitoring, configuration and high availability.
• Provide mentoring and documentation to uplift team capability.
