Job summary

Capgemini Australia seeks a Security Network Engineer to plan, design and migrate telecom networks. You will configure devices, troubleshoot issues and maintain documentation while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet security requirements.

You will lead network security design, Fortinet/Checkpoint firewall management, VPN deployments, and large-scale infra projects. A bachelor’s degree and Cisco certifications are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, telecoms, engineering, or related field.
• Cisco CCNA/CCNP/CCIE certifications are highly valued.
• Design and configuration of telco-grade firewalls and security policy management, preferably Fortinet, F5 and checkpoint firewalls.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve network issues effectively.
• Understanding of network security principles and technologies.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and migrate networks within the telecom domain.
• Configure network devices, troubleshoot issues and maintain documentation.
• Lead network security design, firewall management (Fortinet, Checkpoint).
• Create LLDs and technical design documentation.
• Implement Forti Manager and Checkpoint Smart-1.
• Deploy and troubleshoot VPNs; understand dynamic routing protocols.
• Hands-on with Cisco routers and switches; proxy and VPN gateway design.
• Confluence documentation and large-scale infrastructure projects.

Your role

As a Security Network Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing and migrating networks within the telecom domain. You’ll ensure secure, stable, and high-performing infrastructure by configuring network devices, troubleshooting issues, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet technical requirements.

You will play a key role in:

• Network security Planning, Design and Migration
• Firewall Knowledge and Hands on experience, on Fortinet and Checkpoint.
• Strong experience creating LLDs and technical design documentation.
• Handson experience on Forti Manager & Checkpoint Smart-1.
• Experience on VPN Deployment & Troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of dynamic routing protocols
• Router / Switch knowledge and Hands on, e.g. Cisco routers and switches. - Nice to have
• Proxy and VPN Gateway design and implementation experience.
• Confluence documentation tool knowledge.
• Experience working on large-scale infrastructure and transformation projects.

Basic Systems experience on any Linux variants

Your profile

• A bachelor’s degree or tertiary qualification in computer science, telecommunications, engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant industry certifications such as Cisco (CCIE, CCNA, CCNP) are highly valued.
• Design and configuration of telco grade firewalls and security policy management, preferably Fortinet, F5 and checkpoint firewalls.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve network issues effectively.
• Understanding of network security principles and technologies.
