Job summary

Bluefin Resources is supporting a Federal government organisation in Sydney CBD by appointing a Senior Network Engineer with FortiSASE experience for a secure gateway migration. This 9-month contract focuses on hands-on deployment and delivering a modern secure access platform across branches, data centres and Azure.

You will lead FortiSASE rollout, configure FortiGate and F5 load balancers, troubleshoot complex issues, and work with partners and internal teams to ensure project readiness and

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience implementing SASE solutions.
• Experience with FortiGate firewalls is desirable.
• F5 load balancers knowledge helpful.

Responsibilities

• Lead the hands-on implementation of FortiSASE across enterprise environments.
• Configure and support FortiGate firewalls across enterprise sites.
• Implement secure internet, private application and SaaS access.
• Implement high availability and resilient network designs.
• Support integration with Cisco Nexus data centre infrastructure.

A leading Federal government organisation based in Sydney CBD is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with SASE Implementation experience for a secure gateway migration. This is a 9 month contract likely to extend.

This is a delivery-focused contract role suited to an engineer with proven experience building, implementing, and operationalising SASE solutions within complex enterprise environments. The successful candidate will play a key role in the execution phase of the project, working closely with internal infrastructure teams, implementation partners, and Fortinet to deliver a modern secure access platform across branch, data centre, and Azure environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the hands-on implementation of FortiSASE across enterprise environments
• Configure and support FortiGate firewalls across enterprise sites
• Implement secure internet, private application and SaaS access aligned to enterprise security requirements
• Implement high availability and resilient network designs
• Support integration with Cisco Nexus data centre infrastructure
• Configure and support F5 load balancing environments
• Work closely with implementation partners and vendors to deliver the target-state architecture
• Support migration from legacy secure gateway technologies to FortiSASE
• Troubleshoot complex networking and security issues throughout the delivery lifecycle
• Contribute to implementation planning, technical documentation, and operational readiness

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience implementing SASE solutions
• FortiGate firewall experience desirable
• F5 load balancers
• Strong troubleshooting and delivery capability in complex enterprise environments
• Previous experience within federal government, financial services, or highly regulated environments is highly regarded
• Ability to work in a highly hands-on delivery role
• Sydney-based with ability to work onsite as part of a collaborative team environment
