Job summary

Kinetic IT is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement and support Cisco/Fortinet enterprise networks in a large Australian environment. The role blends BAU operations with strategic projects, including SD-WAN, data centre refreshes, and on-call duties.

The ideal candidate holds Cisco certifications (CCNA/CCNP), an active NV1 clearance or ability to obtain one, and strong stakeholder communication. Hybrid work is available, with two days from home and standard business hours.

Qualifications

• Active NV1 clearance or the ability to obtain one.
• Cisco CCNA/CCNP or similar certifications; ITIL is highly regarded.
• Experience designing, implementing and supporting complex enterprise network environments in large operational settings.
• Experience with Cisco, Fortinet, SD-WAN, load balancers and supporting large data centres.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Self-motivated, collaborative with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call roster.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and engineering support across network infrastructure services.
• Design, implement, migrate planning and cutover execution.
• Proactive operational support, troubleshooting and incident response.
• Manage network lifecycle, patching and technical debt remediation.
• Conduct site audits, compliance assessments and health reviews.
• Create and maintain technical standards, docs and support processes.
• Mentor and transfer knowledge to junior engineers.
• Participate in after-hours maintenance and project activities as required.
