Job summary

Kinetic IT is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our Canberra team, focusing on Cisco network infrastructure and security best practices. You will contribute to initiatives ensuring a secure, reliable network aligned with future-state architecture on a full-time, onsite basis.

Ideal candidates have hands-on Cisco, Palo Alto and Azure experience, strong TCP/IP knowledge, and the ability to document processes and collaborate with stakeholders. Weekend on‑call may be required.

Qualifications

• Active AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance.
• Cisco CCNA/CCNP or similar certifications; ITIL is a plus.
• Hands-on experience configuring Cisco devices, including routers and switches.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, VLANs and NAT.
• Experience with firewalls and VPNs and network security technologies.
• Technical expertise across Cisco, Palo Alto and Microsoft Azure.

Responsibilities

• Providing Level 3 network support, including installing, configuring and troubleshooting network hardware and software.
• Collaborating with end-users to resolve networking issues promptly.
• Performing routine maintenance: updates, patches and upgrades.
• Seeking improvements to network performance and processes.
• Developing technical documentation: policies, procedures and guides.
• Collaborate with team, users, clients and vendors to deliver reliable services.
