Job summary

Medibank is seeking a Senior Network Engineer in Melbourne to help support and evolve our enterprise network environment. The role emphasizes automation, cloud connectivity, and API-driven workflows to modernise operations across on-premises and cloud environments.

You will build reporting solutions, drive observability and compliance automation, and mentor engineers to uphold a strong engineering culture within the team.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in network and/or network security engineering
• Experience with Fortinet is preferred
• Strong firewall, VPN, routing, switching, and troubleshooting expertise
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure networking
• Python scripting, API automation, and Git skills
• A proactive mindset with a passion for automation and continuous improvement
• The ability to collaborate across network, cloud, security, and platform teams

Responsibilities

In this role you will combining deep technical expertise with a passion for automation, cloud, and continuous improvement. You'll play a key role in supporting and evolving our enterprise network environment while helping us modernise how we operate through API-driven integrations, Infrastructure as Code, and AI-assisted workflows.

What You'll Do:

• Own and support critical network, firewall, VPN, segmentation, and cloud networking platforms
• Lead complex troubleshooting and provide senior technical escalation
