Job summary

Whizdom is seeking a .NET Developer to design, develop, test and maintain secure, scalable applications and APIs using Microsoft .NET technologies. You will collaborate with analysts, testers, architects and DevOps to deliver robust solutions across a multidisciplinary delivery team.

The role requires strong problem-solving skills, experience with APIs, WCF/REST services and front-end frameworks, plus a proven ability to work independently and in teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing, maintaining and supporting applications using C#, .NET and ASP.NET MVC or equivalent in an enterprise ICT environment.
• Ability to design, build and maintain APIs, integrations and backend services with database-driven components.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to investigate defects and provide technical recommendations.
• Experience with source control, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and development tools such as Azure DevOps.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including technical documentation for diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
• Understanding of secure software development practices, privacy, accessibility and ICT governance.
• Experience with front-end frameworks (Angular, React, Vue) and SPA state management.
• Experience developing with latest .NET frameworks/.NET Core, generics, LINQ.
• Developing/consuming services using WCF (SOAP) and REST/JSON; using ORM tools; design patterns (factories, repositories, DI).
• Experience using Mock Frameworks.

About the Role:

The .NET Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, maintaining and supporting secure, reliable and scalable applications and APIs using Microsoft .NET technologies. Working in a multidisciplinary delivery environment, the role requires strong technical capability, sound judgement, effective communication and the ability to work collaboratively with business analysts, testers, architects, DevOps engineers and other technical specialists.

Skills and Experience Required:

• 1. Demonstrated experience developing, maintaining and supporting applications using C#, .NET and ASP.NET MVC or equivalent Microsoft development technologies in an enterprise ICT environment.
• 2. Demonstrated ability to design, build and maintain APIs, integrations, backend services and database-driven application components.
• 3. Strong analytical, problem-solving and judgement skills, including the ability to investigate defects, resolve issues and provide practical technical recommendations.
• 4. Experience using source control, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, work tracking systems and development tools such as Azure DevOps or equivalent.
• 5. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear technical documentation and explain technical matters to different audiences.
• 6. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary delivery team, contribute to team outcomes and support a positive workplace culture.
• 7. Understanding of secure software development practices, privacy, accessibility, records management and relevant ICT governance requirements.
• 8. Experience working with front-end frameworks and libraries such as Angular, React or Vue and with state management in SPA applications.
• 9. Demonstrated technical development experience: Developing with the latest .NET frameworks (also .NET core) and in-depth knowledge of generics, LINQ;
• 10. Developing and consuming services using WCF (soap/xml) and Restful (Rest/json); Using ORM productivity tools to access databases; Using common development patterns like factories, interfaces, repositories and dependency injection;
• 11. Using Mock Frameworks.

Location and Contract Term:

This role can be based in QLD, WA, ACT, VIC, NSW, NT, SA, TAS. Initial Contract till 31 December 2027 with 1 x 12 - month contract extension options pending budget and delegate approval.
