Qualifications

The .NET Development team within the Development Capability Hub delivers, maintains and improves digital products, integrations and services supporting business outcomes across the aged care ICT environment.

The .NET Developer will design, develop, test, maintain and support secure, reliable and scalable applications and APIs using Microsoft .NET technologies.

Working in a multidisciplinary delivery environment, the role requires strong technical capability, sound judgement, effective communication and collaboration with business analysts, testers, architects, DevOps engineers and other technical specialists.

The role operates within a mature delivery environment following the successful delivery of aged care reforms. Its focus is system stability, sustainment and continuous improvement while continuing to deliver high-quality enhancements aligned with enterprise standards and evolving business requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Contribute to the delivery, maintenance and support of enterprise ICT systems, including web applications, APIs, integrations and data-driven services.
• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain applications and services using C#, .NET, ASP.NET MVC, Web API and related Microsoft technologies.
• Translate business requirements, user stories and technical specifications into secure, maintainable and scalable software solutions.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs, integration services and backend components that enable reliable system-to-system communication.
• Develop and optimise SQL queries, stored procedures, data access layers and Entity Framework components.
• Contribute to solution design, technical documentation, code quality standards, peer reviews and continuous improvement.
• Investigate and resolve defects, performance concerns and application issues across supported services.
• Develop and maintain automated unit, integration and regression tests.
• Use Azure DevOps or equivalent tooling to manage work items, source control, build and release pipelines, code reviews and deployments.
• Ensure development work complies with legislation, cyber security requirements, architectural standards, policies and governance arrangements.
• Collaborate with project, architecture, release, operations and production support teams.
• Support testing, release planning, deployment, warranty and post-release validation activities.
• Mentor permanent and contractor staff through technical guidance, skills transfer and knowledge sharing.
• Lead technical delivery and provide practical guidance and assurance to development teams.
