Job summary

Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing – Canberra ACT is seeking Senior .NET Developers (EL1 equivalent) to design, develop and maintain secure, scalable applications and APIs using Microsoft .NET technologies. Hybrid work arrangements apply, with flexible days and location options across multiple jurisdictions.

The team delivers digital products and services supporting aged care ICT with collaboration across analysts, testers, architects and DevOps.

Qualifications

• Senior – EL1 level equivalent with extensive .NET development experience.
• Ability to design, develop, test and maintain secure, scalable applications and APIs.
• Strong collaboration with analysts, testers, architects and DevOps teams.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to delivery, maintenance and support of enterprise ICT systems.
• Develop and maintain applications using C#, .NET, ASP.NET MVC, Web API.
• Create and maintain RESTful APIs and integration services for reliable system communication.
• Develop SQL queries, stored procedures and data access layers.
• Ensure code quality, documentation and adherence to standards.
• Investigate defects and performance issues across services.
• Develop and maintain automated tests (unit/integration/regression).
• Use Azure DevOps or equivalent for work items, CI/CD, and deployments.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, cyber security, policies and governance.
• Collaborate with project, architecture, release, operations and support teams.
• Mentor staff and provide guidance on technical implementation.
