Job summary

Suncorp is seeking a Natural Perils Senior Pricing Analyst to develop address-level pricing models for natural risks and to establish the infrastructure and monitoring needed to assess model effectiveness. You will blend data science, environmental research, and insurance insights to influence pricing and support fair outcomes for customers.

You will work with stakeholders to turn complex risk information into practical analysis and recommendations, while managing priorities and ensuring timely

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in an analytical discipline such as Finance, Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Engineering or Actuarial Studies.
• At least three years' experience in an insurance analytics role or a similar analytical environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Basic exposure to programming and analytical tools such as SAS, Python, R and Excel, as well as relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Build, blend and implement address-level and catastrophe pricing models for natural perils, including cyclone, bushfire, earthquake, flood, hail and storm.
• Establish monitoring processes and formally track the effectiveness of pricing changes.
• Analyse how pricing changes may affect premiums, new business, renewals, lapse and cancellation rates, concentration risk and reinsurance.
• Engage with teams across the business to share pricing knowledge and provide insights into natural peril risk and claims experience.
• Develop portfolio impact analyses, business cases and recommendations for key stakeholders.
