Job summary

Peoplebank in Canberra is seeking an experienced Lead MS SQL Data Platform Administrator to join a high-performing team managing on-premises and cloud SQL environments. The role focuses on deployment, performance tuning, Always On availability groups, DR, and coordinating migrations to Azure SQL.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Proficient in Always On Availability Groups, clustering, replication and HA architectures.
• Experience with Azure SQL Database or Azure SQL Managed Instance.
• Proficient in T-SQL and PowerShell scripting.
• Excellent stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Manage database performance, health monitoring and optimisation.
• Implement and support Always On Availability Groups, clustering and DR solutions.
• Design and maintain automated backup and recovery processes.
• Manage database security, permissions, encryption and certificate management.
• Support and optimise SSIS, SSRS, SSAS and Power BI environments.
• Troubleshoot database and platform issues across hybrid infrastructure.
• Support Azure SQL and cloud-based database migration activities.
