Job summary

UST Global is seeking a highly experienced Senior MS SQL Database Administrator to lead the migration of our core .NET databases to Google Cloud Platform. You will design migration strategies, implement replication across production and non-production regions, and develop automated scripts to minimize downtime.

You will optimize performance, ensure high availability and disaster recovery, enforce security controls, and collaborate with infra, DevOps, and .NET teams to align cutover timelines.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a Production MS SQL DBA in enterprise environments (SQL Server 2016+).
• Proven experience migrating MS SQL databases to Google Cloud Platform using DMS, Velostrata/Migrate for Compute Engine, or native methods.
• Deep understanding of SQL Server Replication (Transactional, Merge, Snapshot) and Always On Availability Groups.
• Strong scripting skills in T-SQL and PowerShell (or Python) to automate deployment and migration tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute migration strategies to lift-and-shift/replatform MS SQL Server databases to GCP.
• Set up, configure, and maintain database replication across production and non-production regions.
• Write, test, and maintain SQL, PowerShell, or bash scripts to automate migration, schema deployment, data verification, and rollback procedures.
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery across regions with Always On, mirroring, or log shipping.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, and .NET teams to align migration with the lift-and-shift timeline.
