Job summary

Malcolm Thompson Pumps is seeking a Senior Moulder to join our Perth foundry team, overseeing moulding operations and mentoring apprentices in a safety-focused environment. You will ensure quality and efficiency while coordinating with trades assistants to meet production targets.

Key responsibilities include pattern preparation, core placement, mould sealing, and ongoing maintenance of tools and equipment. A strong team player with supervisory experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of moulding practices and methods.
• Able to follow method sheets and plan for jobs.
• Able to operate lifting equipment and use hand tools.
• Able to communicate effectively within a team.
• Experience in a foundry/heavy manufacturing environment.
• Positive problem-solving attitude and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Collect production orders and prepare patterns by mixing sands and screening.
• Turn out patterns, check quality, place cores in moulds, seal moulds.
• Assist with other foundry operations including pouring and fettling.
• Maintain equipment and keep work area clean and organized.
• Direct and mentor trades assistants and apprentices as needed.
