Randstad Australia is seeking a proactive Motor Claims Consultant in Sydney to manage end-to-end lodgement, assessment, and settlement for a portfolio of commercial fleet, SME, and motor claims.

You will act as the client's advocate, interpreting policy wordings, negotiating with insurers, and coordinating with repairers to secure fair outcomes while maintaining compliant file notes and documentation. Applicants with 2–5 years' motor claims experience are encouraged.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years' experience handling motor claims within insurance broking, insurer, or TPA.
• Solid understanding of motor policy wordings and liability principles.
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills with clients and insurers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with a customer-first approach.

Responsibilities

About The Company

This company is one of the fastest-growing insurance broking firms based in Sydney's Hills District. Established 7 years ago, they have rapidly expanded into a powerhouse team of dedicated professionals who provide outstanding service to their commercial and SME clients. Averaging very strong year on year growth, they are now looking to hire a driven Motor Claims Consultant to join their team.

About The Role

• Manage the end-to-end lodgement, assessment, and settlement process for a dedicated portfolio of commercial fleet, SME, and motor claims.
• Act as a direct advocate for clients during stressful times—proactively managing expectations, interpreting policy wordings, and negotiating directly with insurers, assessors, and smash repairers to secure fair and timely outcomes.
• Conduct initial liability assessments, evaluate fault vs. non-fault scenarios, and coordinate excess waivers and third-party recovery processes.
• Liaise closely with Account Managers and Brokers to flag key claims trends, loss ratios, and coverage updates ahead of portfolio renewals.
• Maintain accurate, compliant file notes and claims documentation within broker management systems.

Demonstrated skills

• 2–5 years' experience handling motor claims within an insurance broking, insurer, or TPA environment.
• Solid understanding of motor policy wordings, liability principles, Australian road rules, and repair assessment workflows.
• Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills to push back on insurer declinations and resolve repair bottlenecks.
• Knowledge of Insight (Steadfast system) or similar broking platforms (e.g., WinBEAT) is highly regarded.
• Tier 2 or Tier 1 General Insurance Compliance qualifications are advantageous.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-first, empathetic approach.
