NSW Health Pathology's Royal North Shore Haematology Laboratory invites a Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist to lead Morphology. This temporary, full-time role runs until October 2027 with potential extension, overseeing staff, testing, quality and operations.

The position requires a Bachelor or higher in Science/Medical Laboratory Science, extensive Morphology experience, and leadership in training staff, with a focus on accreditation, compliance and budget management.

Competenze

• Bachelor degree or higher in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent qualification
• Extensive high‑level Morphology knowledge and operation of analytical equipment in pathology labs
• Experience in training and educating staff in identifying a range of cell populations
• Strong communication with customers, patients and clinical/lab staff; report writing and data evaluation
• Understanding of accreditation frameworks, standards and quality systems
• Managerial experience in laboratory operations, administration and budgeting
• Advanced knowledge of Pathology Laboratory Information Systems incl. supervision of e‑based QMS
• Knowledge of health, safety and privacy requirements in lab environments
