Job summary

NSW Health Pathology invites applications for a Medical Laboratory Technician to join the Haematology team at Nepean Hospital. The role focuses on routine haematology investigations, preparation and examination of peripheral blood films, and identifying significant abnormalities, contributing to high-quality diagnostic pathology services.

You will work in a busy hospital laboratory, with a strong commitment to quality, safety and patient-centred care, and you will be part of a supportive team

Qualifications

Diploma in Laboratory Technology or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in delivering pathology services within a relevant discipline and experience with LIS, patient systems and quality systems.
Ability to work both in a team and autonomously to meet deadlines and client expectations.

Responsibilities

Perform routine haematology investigations.
Prepare and examine peripheral blood films.
Identify significant haematological abnormalities.
Contribute to quality assurance, patient safety and teamwork in a busy laboratory.
