Job summary

ILM Sydney is seeking a Senior Modeler to bridge artistic vision and technical execution for production assets. You will model creatures, characters, vehicles, props and environments with advanced Maya and ZBrush skills, in a fast-paced VFX pipeline.

Hybrid role requiring a minimum of 2 days on-site per week in Sydney, with occasional from home. Strong communication and time management are essential for delivering production-ready assets on schedule.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 to 8+ years of professional experience, in a VFX or feature animation pipeline.
• Advanced proficiency in Maya and ZBrush, as well as the ability to quickly adapt to proprietary software and tools.
• Proven ability to model high quality assets within a fast paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Take complete ownership of a range of complex assets and shot work including creatures, characters, vehicles, props and environments with minimal supervision.
• Build production ready assets that are clean, efficient, and fully optimised.
• Collaborate with artists from other departments to define and achieve the desired look.
• Deliver high quality work to schedule, providing accurate time estimates, and proactively communicating updates.
• Participate actively in show reviews and efficiently implement feedback.

Your role?

As a Senior Modeler, you will bridge the gap between artistic vision and technical execution to bring digital assets to life. You will work with both organic sculpting and hard surface modeling techniques; to construct high quality models suitable for production.

What will you be doing?

Take complete ownership of a range of complex assets and shot work including creatures, characters, vehicles, props and environments with minimal supervision. Building production ready assets that are clean, efficient, and fully optimised. Collaborate with artists from other departments to define and achieve the desired look. Deliver high quality work to schedule, providing accurate time estimates, and proactively communicating updates. Participating actively in show reviews and efficiently implementing feedback.

To be a contributing member of this team, you will have a mix of these skills:

• Advanced proficiency in Maya and ZBrush, as well as the ability to quickly adapt to proprietary software and tools.
• A minimum of 5 to 8+ years of professional experience, in a VFX or feature animation pipeline.
• A proven ability to model high quality assets within a fast paced production environment.
• Clear, proactive communication, reliable time management, and a collaborative, problem solving mindset.

This role is Hybrid, which means the employee will be required to work a minimum of 2 days on-site per week at a Company designated location, and occasionally from home.
