Job summary

UGL Transport is seeking Mobile Technicians (Level 7) to support maintenance across the Sydney network from Eveleigh and Sydenham. The role offers permanent employment with shift penalties under the Kangy Angy NIF Enterprise Agreement.

Ideal candidates have Australian trade qualifications, strong fault-finding skills, and a hands-on approach. Training is provided for non-rolling stock experience, with a rotating roster averaging 38 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Australian work rights required.
• Trade qualification with Certificate of Proficiency.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Forklift and/or overhead crane licences are desirable but not essential.
• Hands-on approach and willingness to get hands dirty.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Strong commitment to safe work practices.
• Focus on quality workmanship and customer service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Support live running trains and preparation for revenue service at Eveleigh / Sydenham Outstation.
• Maintain rolling stock in storage locations.
• Perform fault-finding, repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Work across mechanical and/or electrical systems.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to quality standards.
