Job summary

REA Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, ML, to design and deliver AI-enabled features that help millions experience property in new ways. You’ll build reliable ML systems, from data pipelines to production models, working with Python, PyTorch, and cloud technologies.

The role is based in Melbourne or Sydney with a hybrid arrangement. You will collaborate with product, ML, and data teams, own model lifecycles, implement CI/CD, and drive best practices for observability and scalability.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in ML engineering, MLOps and production-grade ML systems.
• Experience deploying models with Python, SQL and modern ML frameworks.
• Familiarity with structured and unstructured data, including image/text.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and monitor AI/ML products, pipelines and services.
• Develop, test and maintain real-time and batch data pipelines (Airflow, SQL, BigQuery, Kafka).
• Own model lifecycle, versioning, deployment and CI/CD integration.
• Evaluate and optimise ML models for ranking and retrieval in production.
• Collaborate across product, ML, software and data engineering teams.
