Job summary

REA Group is hiring an Associate Machine Learning Engineer in Richmond, Melbourne. You’ll help build intelligent features for property discovery, focusing on recommender systems and prediction models across REA’s web and app platforms.

Working with senior ML engineers and data scientists, you’ll train, evaluate, and deploy models, maintain AI pipelines, and collaborate with product teams to deliver impactful features to millions of users daily.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on experience with ML, data science or software projects.
• Familiar with Python and ML libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, PyTorch).
• Understanding of ML concepts such as regression, classification, or recommender systems.
• Interest in applying ML to real-world problems and collaboration.
• Good communication and a curious, proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and development of ML solutions for REA.
• Apply new AI/ML technologies in products used by millions.
• Build and maintain recommendation and prediction models.
• Develop and deploy ML pipelines for batch and real-time use cases.
• Work with cloud-based tools (Python, Docker, GCP or AWS).
• Participate in model evaluation and monitoring.
• Collaborate with senior ML engineers and data scientists.
• Support AI-powered product features with product teams.
• Continue to learn and grow ML skills through hands-on work and mentoring.
