Job summary

Pivot Management in Australia seeks a Senior Mining Engineer to lead truck and shovel short- to medium-term planning on a site-based operation in the Mackay region. You will translate the mine plan into robust, achievable schedules, coordinating with operations, technical services, and survey teams to ensure safety and realism.

You will mentor junior engineers, engage with senior stakeholders, and contribute to ramp-up efforts during growth, with drive-in/drive-out or residential/FIFO options

Qualifications

• Significant site experience in short to medium term planning within a truck and shovel operation.
• Proven site leadership including mentoring junior engineers.
• Hands-on scheduling capability using planning software (Spry/Deswik/Vulcan).
• Strong understanding of open cut coal mining operations and production constraints.
• Ability to collaborate with operations, technical services, and survey teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead short to medium term mine planning for truck and shovel operation.
• Translate mine plan into robust schedules aligning production, equipment, and grade control.
• Provide site leadership and technical direction to engineers.
• Collaborate with Technical Services Manager and team to keep plans safe and realistic.
• Support ramp-up phase and build planning discipline.
