Job summary

Glencore is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to lead the development of safe and efficient mine schedules at Ulan Coal Mines, near Mudgee. The role reports to the Technical Services Manager and works with long-, medium-, and short-term engineers to deliver key business objectives.

You will coach and mentor engineers, coordinate with multiple departments, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to optimise mine plans and safety performance.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering.
• Proven senior level experience or potential to develop into a leadership role.
• Strong safety culture and teamwork.
• Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe and efficient mine schedules with cross-functional input.
• Coordinate mine planning across long, medium and short term horizons.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Senior Mining Engineer will be working closely with long, medium and short term engineers to deliver safe and efficient mine schedules. This role will coordinate and work with other departments, tying in all aspects of mine planning to provide timely delivery of critical business objectives. Coaching and mentoring Mining Engineers within the Technical Services department will be essential to build on the capabilities of the team. About you:

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering.
• High interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
• A flexible attitude and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and problem solve.
• Proven previous experience in a similar role at a senior level or ready to develop into a leader.
• Promoting and maintaining a high level of positive safety performance and workplace culture through teamwork, personal commitment, and application of the company values.
• Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment.
• Ability to liaise with key internal and external stakeholders.
