Job summary

Whitehaven is seeking a Senior – Mine Scheduling for Daunia, to lead drill and blast planning within a high‑performing open‑cut coal operation southeast of Moranbah. You will own complex technical challenges in an advanced operation, including an autonomous haulage system, and partner with site teams to deliver safe, productive outcomes.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in drill and blast, or related technical disciplines, within an open-cut mining operation.
• Proficiency in industry-standard drill and blast software including BlastIQ, BlastLogic as well as Deswik, Vulcan or SPRY.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities while consistently meeting deadlines.
• A positive, values-driven mindset, with strong communication skills, and a genuine drive for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of drill and blast plans that safely achieve production targets and maximise operational value.
• Provide technical guidance to ensure drill and blast activities align with mine plans and business objectives.
• Monitor blast performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and cost performance.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimise drill and blast schedules and resolve operational constraints.
• Maintain compliance with statutory requirements, site standards and safety systems while supporting best-practice drill and blast outcomes.
