Alcoa is seeking a Senior Mine Engineer to provide technical leadership across short-term mine planning at Huntly Mine, WA, translating inputs into robust plans that maximise resource value. You will collaborate with planning, technical and operations teams to connect strategy with execution.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, proven experience in large-scale open-cut mining, and strong skills in mine scheduling software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• Experience in large-scale open-cut mining.
• Strong experience with mine scheduling software.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of robust rolling 2-week mine plans and 24hr mine plans/forecasts.
• Validate planning inputs including block models and productivity assumptions.
• Support achievement of 12 month planning by reviewing fleet, productivity and mining assumptions.
• Connect short-term planning with operations to deliver aligned outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen planning processes and technical standards.
• Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with safety systems.
