Job summary
Alcoa Australia seeks a Senior Mine Engineer to lead short-term planning at Huntly Mine, WA. You will translate complex inputs into robust plans, working with planning, technical and operational teams to connect strategy with execution.
You will collaborate to deliver 2-week and 24-hour plans, validate data, and support 12-month objectives while promoting safety and continuous improvement. This permanent role offers Friday-to-Friday on-site work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
- Proven experience in large-scale open-cut mining and mine engineering.
- Strong experience with mine scheduling software.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Clear communication and ability to influence stakeholders.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead development of robust rolling 2-week and 24-hour mine plans.
- Validate planning inputs and operational data.
- Support achievement of 12-month planning through fleet and productivity reviews.
- Connect short-term planning with operations for practical outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen planning processes and safety compliance.
