Aureka Limited is seeking an experienced Mine Geologist to design and lead the geology function for its Victorian gold projects, including St Arnaud and Irvine. The role is permanent, full-time, based in Avoca with options for hybrid or DIDO arrangements, located about two hours from Melbourne.

You will build a capable team, implement workflows, and lead grade control and geological modelling. The successful candidate will have 5+ years in orogenic gold mining, hands-on software skills

Formación

• Degree in geology or geoscience.
• 5+ years' experience in orogenic gold mining, including underground mining.
• Hands-on with Leapfrog, Surpac, QGIS and MX Deposit (or comparable software).
• Current first aid certificate.
• Manual driver's licence.
• Full working rights in Australia.
• A practical, collaborative approach and the confidence to make decisions on the ground.
• An appetite for building systems and developing people.

Build the mine geology function as Aureka grows into a Victorian gold producer.

Aureka Limited (ASX: AKA) is a Victorian-focused gold exploration company that has recently entered into an agreement to acquire the Fiddlers Creek underground gold and silver mine and Wedderburn Mill, with the aim of becoming a near-term, small-scale gold producer. The company is also advancing its St Arnaud Project towards production while continuing to grow resources and explore at Irvine in the Stawell Corridor.

About the role

• Designing and implementing mine geology systems, workflows and standards
• Recruiting, building and mentoring the mine geology team as we grow
• Running grade control and ore block design
• Building and maintaining short and medium-term geological models
• Leading reconciliation to keep model, mine and mill aligned
• Planning drill programs and contributing to reserve and resource inputs
• Mapping underground faces and logging drill core
• Managing QA/QC programs to ensure the accuracy, integrity and traceability of geological data
• Supporting near-mine exploration, working alongside our exploration team to turn geological insight into new ounces
• JORC Competent Person status is not required however will be highly regarded.

About you

• Degree in geology or geoscience
• At least 5 years' experience in orogenic gold mining, including underground mining experience
• Hands-on with Leapfrog, Surpac, QGIS and MX Deposit (or comparable software and a willingness to learn)
• Current first aid certificate
• Manual driver's licence
• Full working rights in Australia
• A practical, collaborative approach and the confidence to make decisions on the ground
• An appetite for building systems and developing people

Physical requirements

The role involves regular underground work, which is physically demanding. Candidates must be able to meet the inherent requirements of the role, including accessing underground workings, working in confined spaces and manual handling.
