Job summary

Aureka Limited is seeking a Senior Exploration Geologist to join our field-based exploration team across Victoria. Based primarily at Great Western, you will travel to exploration projects including St Arnaud, Avoca and Staffordshire Reef.

Your role involves planning drill programs, logging cores, geological mapping, sampling, and contributing to interpretation and modelling. Reporting to the Senior Exploration Geologist, you will work hands-on in the field, develop targets, and support

Qualifications

• Degree in geology or geoscience.
• At least 2 years' experience in mining or minerals exploration.
• Hands-on with Leapfrog, QGIS and MX Deposit (or comparable software and a willingness to learn).
• Current first aid certificate.
• Manual driver's licence.
• Full working rights in Australia.
• A practical, collaborative approach and the ability to work independently in the field.
• Orogenic gold experience is highly regarded but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise geochemical sampling programs.
• Support geophysical surveys and interpret results.
• Generate and rank exploration targets.

• Support near-mine exploration with the mine geology team.

Join our exploration team across some of Victoria's most prospective goldfields.

Aureka Limited (ASX: AKA) is a Victorian-focused gold exploration company with projects including Irvine in the Stawell Corridor, St Arnaud and Jubilee near Ballarat. The company is advancing its St Arnaud Project towards production while continuing to grow resources and explore at Irvine, and has recently entered into an agreement to acquire the Fiddlers Creek underground gold and silver mine and Wedderburn Mill, with the aim of becoming a near-term, small-scale gold producer.

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Exploration Geologist, you will join a hands‑on, field-based exploration team. Based primarily at Great Western, you will travel to our exploration projects, including St Arnaud, Avoca and Staffordshire Reef. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Planning and supervising geochemical sampling programs
• Supporting geophysical surveys and interpreting results
• Generating and ranking exploration targets
• Contributing to geological interpretation and modelling to support resource definition
• Managing QA/QC programs to ensure the accuracy, integrity and traceability of geological data
• Maintaining and validating exploration databases
• Supporting near‑mine exploration, working alongside our mine geology team
• Assisting with tenement and land access requirements

About you

Physical requirements

This role is primarily field-based and physically demanding. Candidates must be able to meet the inherent requirements of the role, including working outdoors in varying weather conditions, traversing uneven terrain, supervising drill sites and manual handling.
