Job summary

XPT Software Australia in Sydney is seeking a Fabric Data Architect to design, govern, and implement enterprise-scale data platforms using Microsoft Fabric. You will lead data modeling, lakehouse design, and data integration while enabling self-service BI with Power BI.

The role emphasizes security, governance, and modernization of legacy systems, collaborating with stakeholders across data engineering and analytics teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Data & Analytics Architecture with 3+ years in Cloud Data Platforms and Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale data platforms and governance models.
• Strong skills in data modeling, Lakehouse architecture, and BI enablement.

Responsibilities

• Design enterprise data architecture using Fabric components including OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse and Power BI.
• Define conceptual, logical, and physical data models and establish Bronze-Silver-Gold patterns.
• Create reusable data integration frameworks and scalable ELT/ETL designs.
• Build data pipelines with Fabric Data Factory, Notebooks, Dataflows Gen2 and APIs.
• Integrate data from ERP, CRM, SaaS, databases and external sources.
• Enable self-service BI and advanced analytics via Power BI.
• Implement governance using Microsoft Purview and Fabric governance features.
• Define security architecture including RBAC, RLS, masking, encryption and access controls.
• Lead migrations to Microsoft Fabric from legacy platforms and drive modernization.
• Perform architecture reviews and support pre-sales activities.
