Job summary

Rio Tinto in Pannawonica is seeking a Superintendent Planning & Engineering to lead the MEM Planning & Engineering team and deliver safe, reliable asset performance. You will drive fleet maintenance strategy, planning, scheduling and engineering outcomes while collaborating with operations, maintenance and central teams.

This is a senior role requiring strong leadership, budgeting and stakeholder management within a safety-critical mining environment.

Qualifications

Safety-focused leadership in planning/engineering or asset management.
Experience leading planning, maintenance, and asset management in mining or heavy industry.
Budgeting, forecasting and performance management experience.
Engineering qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgical or Process Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

Lead MEM Planning & Engineering team, fostering safety culture and engagement.
Drive short- and medium-term maintenance plans aligned with production needs.
Coordinate 24-hour and weekly maintenance plans; ensure plan inputs and compliance.
Oversee work management governance, defect elimination and asset management standards.
Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Technical Services and central teams to improve plant reliability.
Monitor asset and team performance via KPIs, risk management and improvements.
Manage maintenance and engineering budgets, forecasts and financial outcomes.
Provide technical leadership for root cause analysis and long-term asset improvement plans.
